Disney has reportedly offered Hollywood star Johnny Depp a whopping Rs 2,355 crore (USD 301 million) deal for him to return as the iconic character of Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates Of The Caribbean' franchise and a Disney Plus series.
The defamation trial on Amber Heard affected Johnny Depp’s career drastically, as he stopped getting roles in films. Movies such as Fantastic Beast 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean refused to sign him. After Johnny won the $50 million defamation case, fans have been asking Disney to apologise to the actor.
According to the source, the company is reportedly willing to go above and beyond and offer USD$301 million, exceeding the amount Heard's lawyer claimed that Depp would refuse. During the defamation trial, Heard's attorney, Bredehoft, asked, "Is Disney aware that Mr. Depp has testified under oath that he would not take another 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise role for $300 million and a million alpacas?"
Sources suggest that Disney apologised to Johnny Depp and has offered to pay him Rs 2,535 crores for the role of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean. However, it is not confirmed whether the actor will return back to the franchise as the reports only suggest that the company had sent a gift hamper with an apology letter but there is no information about how Johnny has received this sweet gesture.
