The Hyderabad-based father of Disha, the veterinarian who was brutally raped and murdered recently, has welcomed the encounter killing of all four accused earlier on Friday.

"It has been 10 days since my daughter died. I express my gratitude towards the police and the government for this. My daughter's soul must be at peace now," he said.

The police had killed the accused in Shadnagar, in the same area where Disha was raped. Locals today assembled at the site of encounter and raised slogans in praise of Hyderabad police. Roses were strewn around to celebrate the killing of the accused. The public mood is generally in favour of such extra judicial killings. The mother of Nirbhaya, the rape victim of the Delhi 2012 incident, too, has welcomed the encounter killings today.
