Congress president Sonia Gandhi was discharged from Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi where she was advised a couple of days back after complaining of stomach-ache.
Sonia, widow of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and who is expected to hand over the party’s reins to his son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi in a few weeks’ time from now, was holidaying in Simla when she complained of stomach ache after which she was brought to New Delhi by an air-ambulance and admitted to Gangaram Hospital, one of the leading private hospitals in the national capital.
In order to assure cadres, Rahul Gandhi had tweeted yesterday stating that his mother’s condition was stable. She was discharged from the Hospital at 04:00 p.m. yesterday.
In its discharge report, the Hospital said that Sonia had recovered from her illness and had been in ‘perfect health’.
