Copying and inspiration have been used interchangeably rather loosely in the film industry. From whole stories and sequences to background music, everything has been lifted over the years. This is true of almost all the film industries.
‘Dirty Hari’ has done just that. Director MS Raju has allowed the copying of the BGM of a Taj Mahal ad for a bedroom moment in his film’s recently-released trailer. In the final moments of this trailer, we see the hero (Shravan Reddy) massaging the back of the heroine (played by Simrat Kaur) as an intense classical voice plays in the background. The vibes and feel of the raga are similar to that heard in the Taj Mahal ad.
The similarity doesn’t seem to be accidental or vague. Wonder what the makers were thinking!
To be released on December 18 on OTT, ‘Dirty Hari’ has music by Mark K Robin. ‘Chi La Sow’ actress Ruhani Sharma has played the first heroine in this.
