Ravi Teja's 'Khiladi' hit the screens today. It is directed by Ramesh Varma. At the film's recent pre-release event, the 'Krack' actor subtly took a swipe at Ramesh Varma, suggesting that he didn't do his job well and that luck favoured him the most in the form of producer Koneru Satyanarayana. For those of you who are not aware, Koneru recently gifted an expensive luxury car to the director.

Ravi Teja's comments came in the backdrop of rumours that he has had a tiff with his director. The director has not made any comments against Ravi Teja so far. But his wife Rekha Varma has taken not-so-subtle hits at the 'Venky' and 'Power' actor.

In a series of Instagram posts, Rekha Varma said that she understands why a certain film director once commented that Ravi Teja is a cheap star. The director in question is Ajay Bhupathi, who wanted to do 'Maha Samudram' with Ravi Teja but was shown the door by the actor at the last minute. "I now understand why he called Ravi Teja a cheap star," Rekha Varma wrote. (Note: 'Maha Samudram' was a disaster last year).

She also wrote a couple of other posts that suggested that Ravi Teja hasn't been fair towards Ramesh Varma.

At the pre-release event recently, Ravi Teja told producer Koneru, in full public glare, that he needs to be more involved and be on sets so that he discovers what happens behind him. It is believed that Ravi Teja was not-so-covertly complaining about Ramesh Varma.
