Actor Simbu is sporting a new look for his cameo in Maha, and it is expected that the actor will begin his long awaited next movie Maanadu in June. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Maanadu is produced by Suresh Kamatchi and is touted to be a hard hitting political entertainer.

Before some time, there was a rumour that music director and Venkat Prabhu's father Gangai Amaren has been roped in to play the villain in the movie, though the same was denied by the director himself. However, the latest news making rounds is that veteran director Bharathiraja might be playing Simbu's villain.

Though an official clarification is yet to arrive on this rumour, it will be interesting to see Bharathiraja as a villain in a political entertainer, as he had already played an evil politician in Aaytha Ezhuthu before 15 years. Maanadu will have Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead.
