'Viduthalai Part 1' is a highly acclaimed super hit from director Vetrimaaran which was released earlier this year. The maverick filmmaker is now busy with the making of the film's second part. Viduthalai has Soori in a lead role as a constable alongside Vijay Sethupathi as a rebellious group leader.
Initially, Vetrimaaran had stated that Viduthalai Part 2 would be released in the latter half of 2023 but the film's release was reportedly pushed to 26th January 2024 as the shooting works got extended. Now, the latest reports suggest that Viduthalai 2 will hit the screens only by Summer 2024. The team still is left with some portions to shoot.
We hear that the entire filming might be wrapped up by November end or December first week. While Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chethan, Ilavarasu, and Tamizh are reprising their roles from the first part, Manju Warrier, Prakash Raj, Surya Vijay Sethupathi are joining the cast in the sequel.
With music by Ilaiyaraaja, it is produced by RS Infortainment and Grass Root Film Company. Director Vetrimaaran also has Suriya's 'Vaadivaasal' and a film with Dhanush after the completion of Viduthalai. The fate of those projects will be decided after the maker completes this project. Viduthalai is a two-part film based on a short story by Jeyamohan.
