The talented actors, Soori and Vijay Sethupathi joined hands for the two-part political crime thriller, 'Viduthalai'. The film, directed by the hitmaker Vetrimaaran, focuses on the conflict between the police department and a vigilante group. Soori plays a constable while VJS plays a teacher.
Produced by Elred Kumar under the banner RS Infotainment, Viduthai part 1 is slated for a grand theatrical release on March 31, clashing with Simbu starrer 'Pathu Thala' at the box office. Now, the latest reports suggest that the movie has completed the censor process and the board issued an 'A' certificate. The runtime of Viduthalai 1 is said to be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Red Giant Movies are distributing the film in Tamil Nadu. Viduthalai is inspired by the short story, 'Thunaivan', by Jeyamohan. Ilaiyaraaja scored music for the movie which also stars Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, Gautham Menon, Chethan, Rajiv Menon, Saravana Subbiah, Ilavarasu, Munnar Ramesh and others.
