Veerabhadram of Aha Na Pellanta and Poola Rangadu fame is currently making Chuttalabbai, starring Aadi in the lead role. On the occasion of his birthday today, he opens up:

Why is this birthday special to you?

I feel that doing a golden film like Chuttalabbai is itself something special. I am sure it will be a hit like Aha Na Pellanta and Poola Rangadu. Almost 90 pc of the film is done. The climax and three songs are pending. We are planning to release it in June.

What are Aadi and Namitha's characters like?

He is playing a character by name Recovery Babjee. We zeroed in on Namitha Pramod after considering a number of heroines. She has done about 50 movies in Malayalam. She has acted very well in our film. Yamini Malhotra is the second heroine.

What is the title justification?

The story is about a youngster who enters the scene as an affable 'chuttalabbai'. What he does forms the crux of the story. We have shot in Hyderabad, Bangkok, Vizag, Rajahmundry, Vikarabad forest, Ramoji Film City, among others.

Did you write the story keeping Aadi in mind?

I always write a story for my sake. Only after I am done writing the story that I think about the actor. But Chuttalabbai is most apt for Aadi.

Aadi hasn't had a hit of late. What special care have you taken, given this reality?

Not just Aadi, even I need a hit. I have taken special care to mould Aadi's character, body language and looks. This is a 100% hit story.

To what extent is there comedy in the film?

It's an out-and-out fun film. Prudhvi, Raghu Babu, Shakalaka Shankar will have the audience in splits. I will continue to make films which are high on the comedy quotient.

Tell us about Thaman's music?

Thaman has composed all the five songs differently.

What are your upcoming movies?

Two or three stories are ready. Definitely, my next film will be with a big hero.
