The 20-year-old son of a popular film director passed away tragically after the bike that he was riding in rammed into a water tanker. The incident happened in Bengaluru and the deceased Mayur is the son of noted Tulu and Kannada filmmaker Suryoday Perampalli.
“He was riding a 300cc motorcycle when he collided with a water truck from behind owing to overspeeding. He may have failed to correctly judge the distance between him and the vehicle ahead of him. He died on the way to the hospital as a result of the impact,” the Byadarahalli police said.
Suryoday Perampalli produced and directed the 2019 Tulu superhit 'Deyi Baidethi Gejjegiri Nandanodu', based on the life of Deyi Baidethi, the mother of Tulunadu's twin soldiers Koti and Chennayya (present-day Mangaluru and Udupi districts). The brothers perished approximately 500 years ago after fighting heroically on the battlefield.
Three state awards were given to the film. He also directed 'Salt', a Kannada language comic crime thriller that was released in February this year.
