Director Suraj, known for his hits like Thalainagaram, Padikkathavan, Marudhamalai etc, had last directed Kaththi Sandai starring Vishal. Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu and Vadivelu, and the movie released in 2016 met with lukewarm response, following which the director is yet to begin his next.

However, it has been revealed that the real reason behind Suraj's next project getting delayed happens to be Vadivelu. Following the complaint lodged by Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei team in the producers council, the council had insisted not to sign the actor in any other movie until he completes shooting for Pulikecei, and reportedly, the actor had recently given his nod to act in the movie, and a decision will be taken in the next meeting of the council.

On the other hand, Suraj, who had signed the actor for his next untitled project also starring Parthiepan and Vemal, has been waiting for the nod of producers council to begin shooting with Vadivelu. Earlier, Vadivelu and Suraj had delivered superhit comedy tracks in movies like Thalainagaram and Marudhamalai.
