Legendary director Siddique of 'Friends' and 'Kavalan' fame passes away

Legendary director Siddique who was undergoing treatment for a heart attack passed away tonight. He was being treated at the Amrita Hospital in Kochi due to an aggravated liver disease from July 10th and reportedly was being treated with Ecmo. The mortal remains of Siddique will be kept at Kadavanthra’s Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium from 9 am to 11:30 am and later at his residence for people to pay their homage. His funeral will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday.
Siddique an assistant director of Faasil made his directorial debut with the film 'Ramojirao Speaking' released in 1989 which was a massive hit. Famous actor Lal was his directing partner till 1993. Subsequently, he directed many Malayalam films including 'Godfather', 'Vietnam Colony' and 'Hitler'.
In Tamil he did four films namely the Vijay and Suriya starrer 'Friends', Vijaykanth. Pandiarajan and Prabhu Deva starrer 'Engal Anna', Vijay and Asin starrer 'Kavalan' and finally 'Bhaskar The Rascal' costarring Arvind Swamy and Amala Paul.
