The recent demise of the medical aspirant Anitha who ended her life over NEET has set the media ablaze with support from leading names in the film industry. Indiaglitz had reported earlier about Thalapathy Vijay's visit to Anitha's residence at Ariyalur to show his concern for the bereaved family members.

Joining the band of supporters, director Shankar took to Twitter showing his concern for Anitha. The Tamil film industry's leading director has posted Anitha's photo as the cover image for his official Twitter account today. This gesture by Shankar will no doubt assure his legion of fans and followers that the director's support are with the girl and her family. It is also notable that Shankar's debut film 'Gentleman' shows the plight and grief of a youngster who is unable to follow his dreams due to financial constrains. Vineeth's character Ramesh resorts to end his life over the sorrow of missing out on his ambition of becoming a doctor.

Director Shankar is currently involved in the works for his upcoming science fiction film '2.0' which has Superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in lead roles. The film will hit the screens on January 25 next year.
