Ace director Mani Ratnam achieved Tamil cinema's 70-year dream by bringing the most celebrated 'Ponniyin Selvan' to the big screens. The movie gained a welcoming response from the audience and is having full house shows even on the weekdays.
The star-studded film had a record-breaking opening in Kollywood history. Now, the latest is that director Shankar, who is known for delivering Pan-Indian hits since the early 90s, has showered praise on Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 through his social media handles. The veteran is so impressed with the film that he called Mani Ratnam the 'King'.
Giving his thoughts on the film, director Shankar posted, "#PS1 Captivates. A quality Tamil historical film after years.#ManiRatnam Sir’s mastery in filmma’King’ proven yet again. Hats off to @dop_ravivarman‘s Picturesque depiction. @arrahman music-Riveting!Full 3hrs intrigues U for the sequel.Hail to the vast Army that made this epic!" (sic).
The magnum opus comprises a stellar cast of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prabhu, Parthiban. It has music by AR Rahman, visuals by Ravi Varman and dialogues by Jeyamohan. 'PS1' is running successfully in the theatres near you.
