Shankar is a prolific filmmaker who took the Tamil industry on par with Bollywood in the 90s itself. Recently, his daughter Aditi Shankar debuted as a heroine with Karthi's 'Viruman' and her second film 'Maaveeran' just landed on the big screens yesterday.

Now, Shankar has watched and shared his thoughts about the movie. He heaped praise on actor Sivakarthikeyan and director Madonne Ashwin for presenting a unique flick with a good social message. The maker's feedback note was shared via his social media handle and it is now doing rounds on the internet.

Director Shankar's post says, "#Maaveeran Brilliantly written Dir. Madonne Ashwin's ingenuity shows he's here to stay. Classy Mass entertainer and fantastic sense of humor within the script. SK gave a commendable performance. Aditi did well with what she was given. Ms. Saritha, YogiBabu and Mysskin performed wonderfully! Actions scripted and choreographed remarkably. Plaudits to all who worked hard for this film! Surely an enjoyable new experience with families" (sic).

Sivakarthikeyan plays a comic artist in Maaveeran who gets help from a mystery hallucinative voice in a battle for his people's social cause. The movie produced by Shanthi Talkies opened to a raving response from the audiences and critics. It has emerged as the fifth-highest first day grosser in Tamil Nadu this year.
