Shankar’s official update on ‘Indian 2’ during ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ audio launch!

The epic magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’ is slated to be released on the big screens on September 30. Meanwhile, the most-awaited ‘PS1’ songs and trailer were launched at the lavish event that happened in Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai in the presence of Superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan.

Also, many film fraternities including director Shankar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Siddharth, and Aditi Rao Hydari were all present at the event. Speaking at the function, Shankar revealed an update about ‘Indian 2. He said, “It was just yesterday (September 5) that our first schedule (of shooting) was completed. Kamal Haasan will soon be joining the sets and will start shooting for his parts from the third week of this month.”

According to the sources, Shankar has planned to join the ‘RC15’ shoot by this week and the maker has scheduled week-long filming with Ram Charan. Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal will join the ‘Indian 2’ shoot which resumes by September mid. Shankar also talked about how Mani Ratnam became the inspiration to many who wanted to make Pan-Indian films back in those days.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. The event was also graced by actors Parthiban, Kishore, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Sobhita Dhulipala who play important roles in the historical fiction movie.
