Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan had united with director Shankar, for the sequel to their 1996 blockbuster Indian, and Indian 2 was launched amidst great expectations and hype in January. However, the movie, which also stars Kajal Aggarwal and was announced to have music by Anirudh has not made progress after few days of shoot.

Initially it was said that Shankar had not specified the budget of Indian 2, and later it was cited that Kamal had issues with the makeup and after talks of being taken over by Reliance,  recently it was said that the movie will be resumed  and produced by Lyca themselves. However the latest development is that Lyca has initiated an important discussion with Shankar.

While it was said  that there might be a legal notice issues, now the production house has clarified that they have been discussing terms with Shankar to resume Indian 2, besides also Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei which they were announced to co-produce, as lot of efforts have gone on the pre-production.
