Legendary director Shankar has maintained his reputation as India's numer uno granduer showman for the past three decades. He has turned 59 today (August 17th) and wishes are pouring in from all quarters in the entertainment industry and fans.

Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan who is in the USA in preparation for Shankar's 'Indian 2' has posted his birthday wishes to him on Twitter. He has written in Tamil with his unique wordplay "Let us take pride in the fact that we are 'Indian'...Let us unite and achieve much more...Hearty birthday wishes to Director Shankar who made Indians turn their heads towards him by creating granduer films."

Kamal and Shankar are reuniting after 26 years for 'Indian 2' which is already forty percent complete and production was stalled several months due to various reasons. The good news is the mega project is resuming on September 13th and the set work by production designer T. Muthuraj is already underway.

'Indian 2' produced on a mammoth budget by Lyca Productions has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bobby Simha, Siddharth, Samuthirakani, Manobala and Guru Somasundaram. Sathyaraj is said to be in talks for an important character.
