Thala Ajith had entered into Tamil film industry in a lead role with Amaravathi, which was directed by Selva. The director went on to direct many hit movies in his career, like Pooveli, Karnaa, Naan Avanillai etc.

Selva had last directed the retro movie Naanga way back in 2012, with newcomers, and is currently making Vanangamudi starring Arvind Swami, Simran, Ritika Singh, Nandita Swetha, and many others, and now, the director has started his next interesting project.

Selva will be venturing into small screens, as he has directed a TV serial named Run, which will be an action thriller starring actor Krishna (who had acted in Ananthapurathu Veedu, and is the husband of actress Chaya Singh) and Sharanya Turadi (known for Nenjam marappathillai serial). This serial will be shot in Chennai , Alleppey and Bangkok and will be telecast on Sun TV.
