Veteran director S.A.Chandrasekhar has been conferred with a Honorary Doctorate by the International Tamil University, USA. The director has achieved this honour for espousing revolutionary thoughts through his films.

Known as SAC, the director has given many super hit films with a social theme. His films are know for revolutionary ideals and social satire. He has given blockbuster films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages. The most prominent among his films are 'Sattam Oru Iruttarai' which gave a break for the career of Captain Vijayakanth and 'Naan Sigappu Manidhan' a blockbuster film with Superstar Rajinikanth. His successful association with Vijayakanth continued for several films later. He also holds the credit of introducing his son Vijay to film industry through 'Naalaya Theerpu'.
