'Manmadhudu-2' has been seen by large sections of the audience as a vulgar film. As per director Rahul Ravindran, it is a progressive product.
"I have heard several complaints about the film. I have been criticized and questioned about my commitment to feminism. Let me say that Nagarjuna sir's character in the movie respects women. In my view, only those who respect the woman can manage to have a fling with her," Rahul says in an interview.
"In that scene where Vennela Kishore says that Sam (Nag) knows how to make women fall for him, the hero shoots back that he doesn't like the word itself. 'Padeyadam enti ra... Aa matantene naku chiraku', he says. That line says it all," Rahul, who recently won the National Award for Original Screenplay for 'Chi La Sow', says.
The comedy entertainer has turned out to be a disaster at the box-office.
