Dir Pushkar reveals ‘Vikram Vedha’ content, shooting and release plans

Director duo Pushkar-Gayathri will be making a comeback after six years with ‘Vikram Vedha’ for which they have pulled of what may be called as a ‘casting coup’. Ever charming Madhavan and the Versatile Vijay Sethupathi play the titular characters while Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Kathir of ‘Kirumi’ fame and Shradha Srinath are playing the other important roles.

The film went on floors last week and here we bring you some important details about this mouth watering project straing from – one of the captains of the ship-Pushkar.

"We were not in a hurry and come with the right script. This is a action thriller unlike our earlier two films which are quirky comedies. We have tried to use the story format of Vikramadithyan-Vedalam tales in the contemporary setting. Madhavan plays the role of Vikram and he is an encounter specialist in the film. Vijay Sethupathi is Vedha a gangster. I don’t want to disclose about other characters. But I can assure you that Varu, Kathir and Shraddha will have surprising characters in the film. The film is set in North Chennai for two reasons.- gangster activity is high in that side but more than that we wanted that culture and lifestyle to come in the stories of Vedha. Both Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi will have a strong emotional core. "

Regarding the status of the film, Pushkar said "We have finished five days of shoot. We will resume on Monday (Nov 28) and go on till the year end. Then we have another 15 days of shoot in February. We are planning for a Summer 2017 release."

So we just have to wait for six more months to watch Maddy and Vijay Sethupathi sharing the screen space. That’s a good news indeed.
