Dr G Srinivasa Rao, the Director of Public Health, Telangana, is in the news for displaying sycophancy in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. At a public event on Tuesday, the official was seen touching the feet of the CM twice.
We see the official touching the CM's feet during a photo session. The TRS supremo is seemingly too busy to acknowledge his gesture. A minute or so later, after the photo session, the official falls at the CM's feet all over again.
The public health specialist used to be constantly in the news during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, giving updates about the progress made by the State in the fight against the virus. While his public image is good, the latest episode has brought into focus the prevalence of sycophancy even at the top levels of the present government.
The incident happened during the virtual inauguration of eight medical colleges in the State. This is a record, the government said. Classes at the colleges have also begun on the same day.
