Director N Lingusamy awaits the theatrical release of 'The Warriorr' this Thursday (July 14). In this exclusive chit-chat with IndiaGlitz, he talks about the movie and working with Ram Pothineni. The director also says that he recently called on Allu Arjun. 

Here is what he told us in an exclusive interview:

I had long wanted to do a straight movie in Telugu. Talks were held with Mahesh Babu sir and Jr NTR garu. A film with Allu Arjun sir was launched a few years ago. But somehow, the scripting didn't reach the final stage with any of them. 

I had a meeting with Allu Arjun sir a fortnight ago. Now that a meeting has taken place, let's see how it goes. 

Coming to 'The Warriorr', it's the perfect fit for Ram Pothineni. Initially, my plan was to do a love story with him. Once I narrated the storyline of 'Warriorr', he liked it. Personally, I like to do action movies. Take 'Pandem Kodi', for example. Its climax was refreshing at that time. I am specific about how the fights have to be. I write every single detail in the script. Even the sounds are written in the script. How many fights are there in a movie doesn't determine its identity. How effective are the fights is what matters. 

'Whistle' Mahalakshmi needed an actress who looks energetic. That's why I chose Krithi Shetty. 

'Pandem Kodi' was made in a Rayalaseema background in Telugu. In the Telugu version of 'Warriorr', Guru (Aadhi Pinisetty) hails from Kurnool. 

Audience don't remember 'Baahubali' when they are watching a film like 'Krack'. When they watch a small movie, do they remember 'Titanic'? The audience come with a different set of expectations for different movies. They don't expect huge things from a small-budget movie. They attune their expectations accordingly. 

There is nothing called a pre-decided pan-India movie in my opinion. If a film has the potential, it will engage the audience India wide. If the script demands it, the execution can be scaled up. 'Pushpa' was not written keeping the pan-India audience in mind.
