Renowned Kollywood filmmaker Mari Selvaraj is currently directing the highly anticipated sports drama 'Bison,' starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameshwaran. Known for his critically acclaimed work, he previously directed 'Vaazhai,' a poignant small-scale film featuring a group of children in the lead roles.

Initially slated for a direct OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar, 'Vaazhai' is now set for a theatrical debut. Red Giant Movies has acquired the Tamil Nadu distribution rights for this feel-good drama. Today, the makers revealed that 'Vaazhai' will hit cinemas on August 23rd as they launched the film's first single. Santhosh Narayanan composes the musical score.

The first single from 'Vaazhai,' titled 'Thenkizhakku,' is an endearing melody that captures the innocence of village school children. Sung by Dhee with heartfelt lyrics by Yugabharathi, the song is currently winning hearts online. 'Vaazhai' is jointly produced by Disney+ Hotstar, Navvi Studios, and Farmer’s Master Plan Production.
