Shocking! Director Mani Rathnam hospitalised

Few days after the teaser launch of Mani Rathnam's magnum opus POnniyin Selvan the director has been hospitalised due to Covid 19. Updates about his health condition are yet to arrive.

Mani Rathnam last attended the grand teaser launch function of his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan. The event was attended by many celebrities including Karthi, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu and many others. Now according to sources, Mani Ratnam has tested positive for Covid-19. He has been admitted to Chennai's Apollo hospital for treatment. Doctors are yet to share the medical bulletin regarding his health.

On the work front, Manirathnam is bringing his dream project to life and it is made in two parts as a Pan India film. The first part is scheduled for a grand release on September 30 in multiple languages.

'Ponniyin Selvan' features Jayam Ravi, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Jayaram in main roles, and the film's music is scored by AR Rahman. The epic historical drama is slated to release in theatres in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages on September 30th. It is a cinematic adaptation of Kalki’s evergreen Tamil novel that was serialised in the 1950s.
