Madonne Ashwin won the National Film Award for Best Debut Director and Best Dialogues at the 68th National Film Awards. He earned the honour for his political satire film Mandela starring Yogi Babu in the lead role.
The filmmaker received the award at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi earlier this month. Now, he has met his lead actor Yogi Babu and shared the award with him. Madonne Ashwin took to his social media pages today to post photos of him sharing the National Award. In the picture, Yogi Babu was spotted wearing the medal of honours as he posed.
Sharing the images, Madonne Ashwin captioned, "Finally got to meet the man himself!! #Mandela @iYogiBabu anna, you are the main reason for these awards. Love you na #68thnationalfilmawards" (sic). On the work front, Madonne Ashwin recently started directing Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar in his next project 'Maaveeran' produced by Shanthi Talkies.
