RIP! Legendary writer-director-actor K. Vishwanath passes away - Kamal Haasan pays rich tribute

K. Viswanath one of the greatest filmmakers ever India has produced passed away at the age of 92. He was undergoing treatment for age-related problems. at a hospital in Hyderabad for sometime now and the five time National Film Award winner breathed his last at his residence. The news of the legend's death has created a wave of mourning among his fans and hundreds of celebrities and thousands of fans are paying tribute to the departed soul on social media as well as in person.
Viswanath made his debut as a director with the Telugu film 'Atma Govarvam' in 1965 for which he won the Nandi Award for Best Feature Film. He attained global fame after helming the award-winning classic 'Sankarabharanam', which is still considered his best work and finds its place as one of the greatest films ever made in India.
Vishwanath had a fruitful working and personal relationship with Kamal Haasan having directed him in three classics 'Saagara Sangamam', 'Swathi Muthiyam' and 'Subha Sankalpam'. He has also acted with Kamal who considers him a guru in 'Kuruthipunal' and 'Uttama Villain'. His other films as actor include Vijay's 'Puthiya Geethai' and 'Bhagavathi', Ajith's 'Mugavaree', Vikram's 'Rajapaatai', Suriya's 'Singam 2', Dhanush's 'Yaaradi Nee Mohini' and Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Lingaa'.
. Vishwanath directed many Hindi films. These included Hindi films like Ishwar, Sanjog, Sur Sargam, Kamchor, Jag Utha Insaan, Sangeet. Hindi films directed by him used to be remakes of his Telugu films. She also played roles in Tamil films like "Yaaradi Ni Mohini", "Rajapatti", "Lingaa" and "Uttama Villain".
Kamal Haasan only a few weeks back visited K. Vishwanath at his residence after hearing about his illness. The Guru and Sishya spent quality time and photos went viral on the internet. The legendary actor has posted a handwritten tribute on Twitter from the sets of 'Indian 2'. "Kalathapasvi K Viswanath gaaru fully understood the transcience of life and immortality of art. Hence his art will be celebrated beyond his lifetime and reign. Long live his art. An ardent fan, Kamal Haasan 2023."
