Hari is one of the most renowned commercial filmmakers in Kollywood who delivered classics like 'Saamy', 'Kovil', 'Singam' and 'Thamirabarani'. He is currently working on 'Vishal 34' which is his third collaboration with Vishal after the blockbusters Thamirabarani and Poojai.

Now, it is being reported that Hari's father VR Gopalakrishnan has passed away due to old age. His family is deeply saddened over the father's loss. For the past few months, Hari's father has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai due to poor health and it has been reported that he breathed his last.

Late Gopalakrishnan has five sons and three daughters including Hari. At present, it is said that their father's body has been kept at his residence in Chennai and soon his body will be taken to his hometown and the last rites will be performed. Fans and film celebrities are expressing their condolences.
