Rahul Gandhi, the Vice President of Congress, on Saturday tweeted in support of 'Mersal'. "Mr. Modi, Cinema is a deep expression of Tamil culture and language. Don't try to demon-etise Tamil pride by interfering in Mersal," RaGa said with a touch of wittiness.
To this, director Madhur Bhandarkar of 'Fashion' and the recent 'Indu Sarkar' fame, said: "Sir, I m against a ban on any film. I had expected your support while your workers were demonizing 'Indu Sarkar'. But you chose to remain silent". In no time, this tweet got more than two thousand likes and shares!
'Indu Sarkar', which told a fictional story set in the times of Indira Gandhi's Emergency, came under attack from the Maharashtra Congress. Not many artists and technicians who are known for being vocal came to Madhur's support even after he lamented the silence.
