Veteran director G.N. Rangarajan passed away today after a brief illness at the age of 90. His son G.N.R. Kumaravelan, also a director shared the sad news on Twitter writing “My Father, my mentor, my love … passed away today morning around 8.45 am. Need all your prayers to keep my family in strength”.
G.N. Rangarajan is famous for his frequent collaborations with Kamal Haasan in super hit movies such as ‘Kalyana Raman’, ‘Meendum Kokila’, ‘Kadal Meengal’ and ‘Ellam Inba Mayam’. Kamal also played guest roles in GNR’s films such as ‘Manakanakku’ starring Vijayakanth and ‘Magarasan’ that had V.K. Ramaswamy, Chandrasekhar, Ramesh Aravind, and Goundamani in important characters.
