Director didnt want me to repeat it: Mehreen

Mehreen Pirzada awaits the release of 'Entha Manchivaadavura' on January 15. Starring Nandamuri Kalyanram as the hero and directed by Satish Vegesna, the film casts her in the role of a bubbly youngster. In this interview, catch the actress talk about her character in the movie, why this Sankranthi is special to her and more.

A character with many shades

I have two releases this Sankranthi, one each in Telugu ('EM') and Tamil ('Pattas'). 'F2' has helped me a great deal. My character in 'EM' is nothing like that. She is bubbly, and has got four emotional scenes in the second half. She produces short films and has Nandamuri Kalyanram as the male lead of her shorts. You can expect a lot of fun sequences. She shares a strong bond with her father, but her mother is not fond of the hero. My character comes with a lot many shades. Last year, they saw me in an out-and-out comedic role. Nobody expected me in such a role. 'EM' is a total contrast, it is a performance-oriented role.

Right doses of entertainment

The trailer gives you a glimpse of what is in store. You will have to wait till January 15 for more. There is action, there are elements that you will expect in a festival movie, there is more. The families of the hero and the heroine are long-time friends. She has a special liking for the hero. As soon as I listened to the story, I had goosebumps. He has cast me in the role because I am calm and fun to be with off-screen.

Did it in one take

I haven't watched the Gujarati original, 'Oxygen'. The Telugu audience are different and a lot of changes have been made to the original. There is a long dialogue between me and Tanikella Bharani garu's character. I did it in a single take. I want to prove myself with characters like this one. Applying the lessons I learn from my films are valuable.

That's why didn't dub

I dubbed for my character in 'F2' since that was an energetic character. Coming to this film, the director didn't want me to repeat myself while dubbing. The script has got voluminous lines and therefore, he wanted someone else to dub. He didn't want the pronunciation to be wrong anywhere.

I know my strengths

An actor should be able to pull off any character. Comedy and emotional scenes are my mainstays. I don't use glycerine while doing crying scenes. And playing Honey in 'F2' was not at all difficult for me.

Audience decide the fate

Flops do disappoint me. Nobody works on something believing it will be a flop. At the end of the day, the audience are the ones who decide the fate of your movie. Failures are a part of life. Nobody can have it good every time. I am very sorted about it.

God has been kind

My younger brother is going to be launched in Bollywood by Karan Johar. I have got no Bollywood plans as of now. I have done two Punjabi films and my grandparents are extremely delighted about it. In Telugu, many of my films have been releasing during festivals. I am termed as a 'festival heroine'. God has been kind to me. I await the release of 'Aswathama' later in January.

Hyderabad is my home

I would want to buy a house in Hyderabad. I am here for the most part of the year. So, this is my home now. I am fluent in Telugu and it has become my second mother tongue. Having worked in Kollywood, I am learning the ropes in Tamil. 'Pattas', the film opposite Dhanush, is a very important project for me.
