It is never easy being a star daughter or a star son.

It should be doubly so for Saranya as she is a star daughter twice over --- being the progeny of Bhagyaraj and Poornima, two of the big names from yesteryear cinema.

A proud father who is directing the maiden venture of his daughter titled Parijatham, says, 'it was a big surprise for me when my daughter said she wants to act in films'.

She plays a soft role in Parijatham.

But the director in Bhagyaraj is impressed. "After completing the first schedule, I can proudly say that she has done justice to her role. To my surprise, she has done a good job considering this to be her debut venture".

Coming as it does from a professional like Bhagyaraj who directed the likes of Saritha, Radhika, Radha (all consummate artistes), it is indeed a high praise.

Bhagyaraj, who also plays an important role in Parijatham, says, 'I am now confident that she will get a better than Poornima and me for her acting skills in the industry".
