Vishal had recently stated that director Cheran is in financial strife and after he becomes the Producer Council President, he would allot Rupees five thousand per month for him. Reacting angrily to this Cheran has shot out a seven page letter condemning Vishal.

In the letter Cheran has said that even though he is in financial crisis, it is his life and he would take care of it and Vishal has no business to poke his nose. He further alleged that Vishal having not fulfilled the promises made to Nadigar Sangam members is now aiming to become the President of the Producer Council and this is due to his obsession to being the man of the moment everywhere. He also severely criticized the Kaththi Sandai` hero by stating that he has no opening at the box office and all his films are regressive and does nothing to improve the Tamil fans aesthetics while he (Cheran) is proud of the quality of films he has delivered. Cheran felt strongly that Vishal`s obsession with becoming master of everything is a sickness and advised him to consult a doctor.
