Balaji Mohan to inaugurate a fundraiser event for cancer patients

The Thenmizhi Memorail Trust which has been working for the treatment and care for Cancer patients has been conducting an annual fundraiser event for the disadvantaged cancer patients, on the second Saturday of the month of May, every year.

Titled as 'Rhapsody', this 'Celebration for a Cause' will include a grand entertainment and arts in the form of Music, Singing, Dance. Mimicry, Standup Comedy and other live performances. The organising committee of this cultural extravaganza constitutes of a group of like minded volunteers who share a passion to make a difference and contribute to a like minded cause.

The Rhapsody'17 scheduled on May 13, 2017 at Sri Mutha Venkata Subba Rao Auditorium of Lady Aandal School i Chennai will feature various cultural events performed by corporates as well as television artists and celebrities in the city for a target audience of 1500. All the proceeds from the ticket sales would be used for the benefit of underprivileged cancer patients through various activities. The organisers are looking for sponsors to bear the event cost.

Here is the list of events that will be part of Rhapsody' 17:

Inauguration by Director Balaji Mohan - Brand Ambassador - Rhapsody
• Standup comedy by Evam Standup Tamasha
• Performance by Airtel Super singer - Soundarya
• Mimicry by Vijay TV Fame Vignesh Karthik
• Dance by Vijay TV fame Zero 6 Dance company and couple of corporate Dance Group's
• Light music band - By Corporate Team
• Fashion Show ( A ramp walk involving the cancer survivors and we will have a celebrity to be a show stopper )

This is not the final list. The organisers are reaching out to a lot more celebrities to participate in the event. They are expected to come up with the final list in a week or two.

Actors Kayal Chandran, Janani Iyer, Kaali Venkat, Mime Gopi, Robo Shankar, VJ Ramya and VJ Anjana are the other celebrities who have graced Rhapsody'16 & 15.

Taking part as a performer in Rhapsody will be a great opportunity for youngsters with various talents to connect with 1500+ professionals from major IT firms.
