It has been more than two years since director Bala`s period flick Paradesi` released. The highly celebrated director started working on his next film Tharai Thappattai` with Sasikumar and Varalakshmi Sarathkumar in lead roles. This film also marks the reunion of Bala with music maestro Ilaiyaraja after Naan Kadavul` that released in 2009.

Though the film went on floors in the mid of 2014 the shooting is yet to be complete. There is no clear information available on how much has been shot and what is remaining to be shot.

Now the shoot of this film touted to be a fictional take on the lives of Nadaswaram and Karakattam artists seems to have resumed now. Varu, who reportedly plays the role of a Karakattam dancer in this film has updated a photo in her twitter page and said that she is going to shoot for the song shoot of Tharai Thappattai`.
This much needed update can be considered as a positive signal about the quicker completion of the film.
