Director Bala is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in Tamil cinema who has directed memorable films such as 'Sethu', 'Nandha', 'Pithamaganl, 'Naan Kadvaul' and 'Avan Ivan' among others. He is also involved in film production under the banner B Studio.
Bala has filed a complaint in the Chennai Police Commissioner's office to take action against a person who started a fake account on Instagram in the name of "Director Bala". In his petition he has stated "I don't have any Instagram account. Don't be fooled by scammers. Mysterious person is creating a fake Instagram page and posting photos and information under my name. The accused Balasubramanian Palanichamy is engaging in improper activities by claiming to be me."
Bala has added "In particular, he has spoken to women who are interested in acting in films, by talking to them personally through text messages and saying that he is giving them a chance. He also asked for more sexy photos. That fake account should be disabled. Action should be taken against the person involved in it."
It has been sought to freeze the fake account in his name. Usually only assistant directors and managers are directly involved in the selection of actors for Bala films. So those who are interested in cinema, especially those who want to act in their films, should not be fooled by such fake people.
Bala is on the verge of completing his new movie 'Vanangaan' starring Arun Vijay and Roshni Prakash in the lead roles. The film has music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Balasumbramanian and editing by Sathish Surya. A december 2023 release is planned.
