Super talented actor Navdeep will be seen in a new avatar, Navdeep 2.0, in the movie "Love, Mouli." This unique and diverse film is helmed by visionary director Avanindra, a disciple of S.S. Rajamouli. The promotional images and content have already sparked significant interest in the movie. "Love, Mouli" is produced by C Space, known as a hub for Tollywood's talented technicians, in association with Naira Creations and Srikara Studios banners. Impressively, the film recently completed the Censor process without a single cut.

In a recent media interaction, Avanindra shared insights and secrets about "Love, Mouli."

Response to the premieres of Love and Mouli in Vizag

A special show of "Love, Mouli" was recently held in Vizag, receiving a tremendous response. Everyone who attended praised the movie, with no negative feedback. This positive reception was echoed by Keeravani's brother, Kanchigaru, whose opinion I value greatly.

Doesn't it feel risky to preview three days before the release?

Initially, we were concerned about holding a preview in Vizag, fearing that early talk might spread. However, we decided to test the waters, and as soon as the booking opened, it was fully booked. This indicated strong interest from the audience. Everyone who watched the movie enjoyed it, and seeing their engagement and enjoyment, even in unexpected places, made me very happy. The response was overwhelming.

What are the interesting elements in this story?

This story has all the elements to captivate the audience. Some locations and the heroine's characterization make it relatable, especially to female viewers.

What made you introduce yourself to the director with such a bold story?

I was writing "RRR" when I conceived this story. As an associate writer for that film, the entire team encouraged me to direct. Although I had written many commercial stories, I wanted to create something refreshing for the audience. While working on "RRR," this idea took shape, and after completing my commitments, I focused on this story.

Was this story made for hero Navadeep?

While writing, I didn't initially imagine any specific actor for the role. It was more like writing a novel. After considering various young heroes, Navadeep was not among them initially. He wasn't actively doing films at the time, but when I pitched the story to him, he loved it. He had been looking for a story like this and fit the role perfectly. Market equations didn't matter; I wanted to tell this story honestly.

Feeling a little awkward with hero smoking in a donning bra?

We all feel awkward about certain things in public. To portray the hero's character accurately, there's a scene where he's shown taking drugs in his inner clothes. If the censors found it problematic, they would have taken care of it. Interestingly, 50 percent of the preview audience in Vizag were girls, and no one questioned the scene. It might seem controversial in the poster, but it makes sense within the context of the movie.

Why did the censors give this movie a certificate?

The censors were willing to give a UBA certificate but demanded 20 cuts, which would have disrupted the story's flow. I insisted on preserving the story's integrity and was prepared for an 'A' certificate. This story is meant for a mature audience.

Has this film crossed the budget limit?

We faced challenges during the lockdown, but the budget remained under control. As the cinematographer, I planned everything meticulously.

New people were taken as heroines?

Given that this is a fantasy-based story, we needed new heroines to make the characters feel authentic. Known actresses might not have conveyed the same sense of novelty.

Will it be the latest in love stories?

The story is rooted in real-life emotions despite its fantasy elements. It reflects on why relationships lose their initial spark after a few years. This movie explores that dynamic, making it relatable and refreshing.

What do you want to convey through this film?

I want to convey that love is not about changing for someone but accepting them as they are. That's the essence of love in my view.

About the background music of this movie?

Inspired by the Tamil film "96," where emotions were carried by music, I felt that "Love, Mouli" needed similar musical depth. Govind Vasant did an excellent job, making the music an integral part of the emotional journey.

Did you tell Rajamouli that you are making this film?

When I discussed the story with Vijayendra Prasad, he initially advised against it, urging me to stick to commercial projects. However, after showing him and Keeravani the finished product, they were pleasantly surprised.

It is said that there are 42 lip locks, bold scenes, and dialogues in this film. Are all these necessary for the story?

The bold dialogues and numerous lip locks are essential to the story. They are not included for shock value but to enhance the narrative. Post-COVID, audiences have been exposed to global cinema, and our industry needs to evolve beyond item songs.

What is the justification for the title Love, Mouli?

The title is inspired by Lord Shiva in a calm, loving mood. The reason for this title will become clear after watching the movie. This story is timeless and will remain relevant even after 20 years.

Your next films?

Will you try to make a movie like the next "RRR"? There is potential for an "RRR" sequel, but it depends on Rajamouli's decision. After "RRR," it was known that the next film would be with Mahesh Babu, and the entire team decided on an adventure film. That's all I can share for now.
