Today is young director Atlee's birthday.

Atlee started his film journey by working as an assistant to director Shankar, who is the superstar among directors. By assisting Shankar in just two films Enthiran` and Nanban` the youngster had impressed the master director so much that Shankar spoke highly about Atlee in his interview to a popular weekly magazine when Atlee was directing his debut film Raja Rani`.

Atlee had also impressed another highly acclaimed director of the recent times A.R.Murugadoss as he produced Raja Rani`along with his FOX Star Studios. When Raja Rani` hit the screens Atlee`s talent and abilities as a filmmaker became evident to the outside world and the fantastic reviews and collections made by the film placed him in the list of promising directors

After a gap of almost two years Atlee his directing his second film and this time it is a far bigger one with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the lead role. Atlee is presently busy shooting for Vijay`s yet to be titled 59th film that has Samantha, Amy Jackson. Prabhu, Radhika and Motta` Rajendran in important roles. What more the youngster has convinced the veteran director J.Mahendran to don the greasepaint after a long gap in his film.

Atlee has promised a real treat to Vijay fans and we can be assured that the end product will live up to the hype.
