In the trailer of his upcoming grand action entertainer Iru Mugan`, Chiyaan Vikram comes as Akilan, a RAW Agent sent to Malaysia to complete a mission and Love who looks like an effeminate male or the one who pretends to be so. Vikram`s getup , body language and dialogues as Love has stunned everyone and that is going to be one if the USPs of the film for sure. However the depiction of the character has not gone well with a section of people and activists belonging to the LGBT community.

The film`s director Anand Shankar countered this allegation recently.

“Love is not a transgender or anything like that. If some one dresses up as a nurse people think that he is a cross dresser. He enters a hospital and instead of beating up people, he changes himself dressing up like a nurse. There is nothing more to it. In no part of the film, we have insulted any community. We don't have anything were we make fun of somebody. When you have the hero, who is really rough and hard an everything, this guy (Love) is more cat like; he is smooth in what he does. Akilan will just go and bash up people, break doors and enter a place. This guy will jump in through a small door, he will change himself like one nurse. It is for that contrast. When people watch the film they will just love it and go. Nobody will complain. There is no mentioning of anybody. “

The Arima Nambi` director cleared the rumors that Akilan and Love may be the same person in the film, as they are not shown facing each other in the trailer.

“Akilan and Love are not same people. We have done something where he (Vikram) has played another actor. When you start watching the film, like half way or three fourth through it, if you forget the fact that it is the same actor and see them as two different people it works. Thats what we want. There are action scenes between Love and Akilan. “

Iru Mugan` is all set to hit the screens day-after-tomorrow (September 8) and the next 40 and odd hours are going to be too long as the eagerness to watch the stellar performer Vikram amaze us with two distinctly different characters.
