Ameer is a renowned filmmaker and actor who delivered hard-hitting Tamil films. He is currently working on 'Nilamellam Ratham' (upcoming series) and 'Uyir Thamizhukku' (upcoming film). Now, Ameer is facing backlash from fans over his controversial comment about Superstar Rajinikanth.
Superstar Rajinikanth has won several awards and accolades in his career spanning four decades. In a recent interaction with the media, Ameer stirred controversy by asking if Rajinikanth deserved the Best Actor Award by the state government for his performance in Sivaji The Boss. It was one of the all-time blockbusters in the industry directed by Shankar.
The clip of Ameer asking the aforementioned question in a press meet is going viral. In the video, he can be seen asking, "In 2007, the state government award for Best Actor was given to Rajinikanth for his performance in Sivaji. Ask your conscience. Can we call him a Best Actor? He is the Best Entertainer and Superstar. There are no second thoughts about it. But, is he the Best Actor that year?"
Ameer is facing backlash from fans following his controversial statement. On the film front, Superstar Rajinikanth is currently working on director Nelson Dilipkumar's 'Jailer'. He is set to star in a cameo role under his daughter Aishwarya's direction and a new film under director TJ Gnanavel, both bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
