The Narcotics Control Bureau recently traced down 2000 crore worth of a drug racket recently. One of the prime accused in the case is Jaffer Sadiq, a Tamil film producer. He has produced the Ameer starrer 'Iraivan Miga Periyavan' and Kayal Anandhi starrer 'Mangai'.

Netizens found out that the accused Jaffer Sadiq is not only a producer in the JSM Movies banner but also the deputy organizer in DMK's NRI Wing. After this, there were reports on social media linking this incident to actor and director Ameer. Now, Ameer has issued a self-explanatory statement regarding this issue. It is going viral now. It says:

In the last couple of days, all the news about Jaffer Sadiq, the producer of my film "Iraivan Miga Periyavan" has shocked me.

On the 22nd, when I was shooting for the final schedule of the movie 'Iraivan Miga Periyavan', the filming was suddenly stopped.

I was able to learn why the shooting stopped and what was happening around me only through the media. I don't know the truth till now.

However, if there is any truth in the allegations in the news, it should be condemned and punished!

The film industry knows very well that I am always against making compromises with actors and producers to earn a lot of money.

In that sense, I would like to state that I will not continue to work with anyone involved in illegal activities.
