Amid the Coronavirus lockdown, Kollywood director AL Vijay and his wife Aishwarya are blessed with a baby boy on Saturday. Taking to Twitter, Actor Udhaya, who is AL Vijay’s brother, shared the happy news.

AL Vijay and R Aishwarya, a doctor by profession, got married in a private ceremony held in Chennai in July last year. The director had announced regarding his marriage officially on June 29 and got married to Aishwarya in the first week of July 2019.

This is director AL Vijay's second marriage. He was earlier married to actress Amala Paul in the year 2014. The couple got legally separated in the year 2017.

AL Vijay is known for movies such as 'Madrasapattinam', 'Deiva Thirumagal', and 'Thaandavam'. His last directed movies are 'Watchman' and 'Devi 2', and is next directing the biopic of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa, titled 'Thalaivi' that has Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead role.
