AIADMK dissident leader Dinakaran, nephew of jailed Sasikala (former aide of former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa), has vowed to take revenge even after 20 years on those ‘responsible’ for yesterday’s income-tax raids on the premises owned by himself, his family friends and relatives.
“I’m 54 now; even if I’m put behind bars for 20 years, I shall come out of prison when I would be 74 years of age and would take revenge on those responsible for yesterday’s raids; I won’t allow them to take roots in Tamil Nadu,” Dinakaran said while reacting to yesterday’s income-tax raids at many places. Though he didn’t name it openly, it was apparent that he was holding the BJP responsible for yesterdays’ raids.
Dinakaran’s Adyar residence was also raided yesterday. Reacting to the raids, he said that it was apparent that the raids were ‘ordered’ to ensure that he and his aunt Sasikala don’t stay active in politics. “It’s an intimidation tactic indulged in by the ruling BJP at the Centre which has ‘masterminded’ the raids at our places in Chennai and elsewhere,” he said.
“I and my aunt had been in prison more than 30 years back; my father is 85 years of age and he has also seen what a prison looks like. We aren’t scared of the raids which won’t take away our lives. Even if I land up in jail for 20 years, I would still take revenge (on those responsible for yesterday’s income-tax raids) after returning from the prison,” he vowed to himself.
