R.K. Nagar MLA Dinakaran, nephew of Bangalore's Parappana Agrahara prison in-mate Sasikala, has said that he would make public his decision to float a political party on 17th January (today) on the 101st birthday of the legendary MGR.
Dinakaran, who humbled the ruling AIADMK and the opposition DMK candidates while coasting to victory in the R.K. Nagar by-polls held in Chennai on 21st December last year (apparently with money-power and cash-for-votes practice as accused by almost all the parties in the fray), has been a thorn in the flesh for the ruling AIADMK though he and his aunt had been expelled from the AIADMK a few months back.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday in Puducherry, Dinakaran said that he would make public on Wednesday (today) his plans of launching a new outfit on the 101st birthday of the late and legendary MGR, the founder-president of the AIADMK. He also expressed confidence that his outfit would fare well in the upcoming local body polls.
"Case relating to Two Leaves` symbol is still sub-judice and it is not known when the legal proceedings would end. I have to take some important decisions (on launching a party) ahead of next year`s Lok Sabha polls," said Dinakaran.
