Sri Lanka's star cricketer arrested for drunken driving accident

Early this morning the current Sri Lankan test captain and star batsman Dimuth Karunaratne was arrested for injuring a three-wheeler motorist in Colombo. Though the victim sustained minor injuries the cricketer was apparently under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred.
Dimuth Karunaratne who has consistently scored heavy runs as an opener was handed the captaincy during the recent test series in South Africa where he led his team to a dramatic win of 2-1 over the more highly rated home team. This incident could also affect Karunaratne's cricketing future as he was the favorite to lead the Sri Lankan side in the 2019 ODI World Cup set to begin on May 30th in England.
