Dileep, the Malayalam superstar, is going through a court trial for allegedly conspiring a plan to abduct and sexually assault of Bhavana, an actress. The news is that the Executive Committee of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) accepted his resignation. It's akin to a Telugu artist losing his membership of the MAA.

Complete Actor Mohanlal, who is the President of AMMA, on Friday claimed that he had asked Dileep to tender the resignation.

There is confusion over how the resignation came to be had by AMMA. Actor Siddique had previously claimed that Dileep offered to resign from the body by his own volition. On the other hand, Mohanlal said that it's he who took the lead to ask Dileep to put in the papers. "I have spoken of what I did. You can trust what you want," Mohanlal told the reporters.
