The Kerala High Court has denied bail to Malayalam actor Dileep who was arrested and jailed in connection with the actress abduction and sexual assault case. A single bench has stated that the prosecution evidence presented to the court strongly points to his involvement. Dileeps`s manager Appunni is also absconding and is untraceable and the court felt that the suspected mastermind if left free would be a threat to the victims life and also could influence the many witnesses and interfere with the investigation.

The Kerala High Court statement reads “"The case is unique, considering its seriousness, meticulous planning, cruel nature of execution and being a crime executed to wreak vengeance on a woman by engaging criminals, to sexually abuse her. Courts have to be circumspect in granting bail in such cases.".
