Ace producer Dil Raju on Thursday held a presser alongside industry representatives such as C Kalyan. He made it clear that the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce is the supreme body where all decisions were, are and will be taken. Tollywood producers have been striking since August 1.
Dil Raju said, "Four committees have been formed to deliberate upon different pressing issues. The first committee is looking into the ideal gap between theatrical and OTT release. VPF (Virtual Print Fee) is another issue another committee is working on. The Federation members' wages are the third key issue. I am the Chairman of the committee. The fourth committee is looking into what can be done to reduce wastage during production."
Dil Raju clarified that the Chamber and the Producers' Council are the main bodies. The Active Producers Guild doesn't have decision-making powers. "Anything has to be decided at the Chamber. Let there be no confusion," Raju said.
Raju said that the idea is to arrive at a consensus as soon as possible. "We have no interest in prolonging the strike for months. In the last three days, 3-4 meetings have been held. We are thinking of how the cinema economics is going to be like in the coming future. We have to do everything to make sure the audience come to theatres," Dil Raju said.
"I have been given the responsibility to lead the deliberations. The media can target me as it likes but the truth is that I have no personal agenda," he added.
C Kalyan said that the Chamber will keep the media updated about the progress made in the deliberations.
