DIG exposes Sasikala's cushy life in jail, transferred

IPS officer D Roopa was instrumental in exposing the royal treatment that AIADMK chief Sasikala Natarajan had allegedly bought for herself with a Rs. 2 crore bribe. Within days of submitting two reports on the scam, the Deputy Inspector of Police (DIG) Prisons has been transferred to Road Safety and Traffic department “with immediate effect”.
In her first report, the officer had mentioned that Rs. 1 crore was paid to the Director General of Prisons (DGP). The DGP consequently accused her of being of being unaware of rules'. He added that the court had ordered for Sasikala to be given proper care due to her health. DIG Roopa submitted another report with more details on the scam.
